Vibrational sound therapy is based on the premise that all matter, including our bodies, vibrate at specific frequencies. Asour bodies are made of about 70% water, studies have revealed that sound vibrations travelling through our body (the connective tissue, blood, cartilage, muscle tissue, bones, glands and lymph & spinal fluids, etc), have the power to affectour state of mind and our body’s natural ability to heal.
In 1998, Robert F Furchgott, Louis J Ingnarro, and Ferid Murad made a discovery that changed medicine. They discovered that our cells produce and release nitric oxide. Their discovery was so important that they won the Nobel Prize in Medicine and so significant that the U.S. government and the pharmaceutical medical complex has spent over two hundred million dollars investigating this gas.
Nitric oxide is a molecule created by a nitrogen atom bound to an oxygen atom. It is made in our cells and released into the surrounding tissues as a gas. The release of nitric oxide by our cells is termed “puffing” by scientists to describe the rising and falling of this gas. The puffing cycle is like a wave that takes three minutes to rise and three minutes to fall. The rising phase of the wave is the release of nitric oxide that sends a signal to our cells to relax.
During the falling phase of the wave nitric oxide dissipates and our cells become more active. The calm between the rising and falling we call still point. The release of nitric oxide sets off a cascade of physiological events that directly influences our health, well-being, state of mind, and consciousness.
When cells are puffing nitric oxide in natural rhythmic cycles, we experience important benefits which include enhancement of ours cell vitality, vascular flow and heart healing, and enhancement of our immune system which increases our ability to prevent and fight infections.
Unfortunately as we grow older, our bodies have more trouble in making nitric oxide. Loss of nitric oxide can produce a host of symptoms and if left unchecked, may play a large role in major diseases such as cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, cardiovascular disease and autoimmune disease.
Vocal toning (the 7 vowels) is a means for an individual to use their own voice to create particular frequencies or vibrations within the body. Each vowel or sound is connected to a particular chakra, or area within the body, starting from the lower spine, all the way up to the crown of the head. When one puts their attention to a particular area of their body and holds an intention (for ex: healing or balancing), and then tones the corresponding sound, the effects can be felt quickly and can be very profound.
The universe is alive with sound and within all sounds are harmonics. Harmonics, also known as ‘overtones’, are a phenomenon of sound that occurs whenever sound is created. Normally we perceive what seem like single tones when we hear a note struck on a musical instrument like a violin or a piano.
However, nearly all tones that are produced by musical instruments, our voices or other sound sources are in reality not pure tones, but mixtures of pure tone frequencies called ‘partials’. The lowest such frequency is called the fundamental. All partials higher in frequency than the fundamental are referred to as overtones.
To effectively boost the level of nitric oxide in our body, Guru Krissy Gee has combined binaural beats music and vowel singing .When we sing we resonate every cell in our body. Every organ, every bone, every cell in the body has its own resonant frequency.
Together they make up a composite frequency like the instruments of an orchestra. Binaural beats, which have also been added, are a way of synchronizing your brain waves (which are measured in hertz) with the hertz of the binaural beat. The tones from the vowel singing and binaural beats will be synchronized and become overtones or harmonic.
This may induce states of deep relaxation and production of the nitric oxide which will be released to our body tissues. The best part of this therapy is we can do it anytime, anywhere, because we always have our voice with us.
This workshop which will be held on 29 September 2019 is a transformational, life shifting sound meditation and wellness experience. It is the inter-connective blending, the synchronicity of art and science for the mind, body, and soul.
